Yes, these pants are too tight

My pants don't fit today, and this is why:

The Elliott and Katie family are officially making a public service announcement that the family is expanding. Thus the new blog title (for those of you who have not figured that out yet). And yes, I know that at 10 weeks my clothes really shouldn't be tighter but they are so don't judge. Genetics are just not on my side. I will tell you who is though...Chick-fil-a! They make some of the only food I can stand to eat.

Let's get those awkward questions out of the way:

-No, it was not planned. Yes, we are adults and know how this sort of thing happens.

-Our small human is scheduled to arrive January 6th, 2012. What seems like an eternity away now, I am sure will come all too quickly.

-Yes, we will be finding out what sex it is. We aren't hippies.

-No, we have not thought about names but I did hear that there are more CEO's named Peter than anything else so I will lean toward that or Ira. You know, after my boyfriend, Mr. Glass.

Some cultural tid bits about January 6th:

-It is the day the Germans celebrate as the day of the 3 kings. You know, the ones who came to visit Jesus. Don't show up to meet the babe without gifts of biblical proportions (or camels). It will be considered offensive.

-Tis the Twelfth Night, the eve of the Epiphany.

-Someone named William wrote a play with this title. It is said to be written about the "musical interludes and riotous disorder expected of such an occasion" we will expect nothing less so bring your lute (and your camel)

-John Hancock, first patriot to sign the Declaration of Independence, was born on this day. May our child be a patriot and independent.

So wish us luck or maybe wish our small human luck. We are old and have forgotten how to be nice or have fun. We probably should have done this when we had a little more spring in our steps.
